About: Washington, DC Sports Fanatic

For beginners

Step 1: Disclaimer

First of all I just want to tell you all I have only been playing the piano for a year starting in school as a mandatory class to take and I passed that class last year so I no longer take it but I will be getting piano lessons soon. I am only teaching you guys what I know so far so please don't leave any bad comments.

Step 2: Middle C

All the lines on the sheet music are called "staff's". When playing the piano you start out with "middle C" as seen in the picture above. The middle C is important to know so that you know where to place your hands. All the keys after that are "Treble Clef" keys and played with your right hand. All the keys before that are "Bass Clef" keys and played with your left hand. That's basically it with the "Middle C".

Step 3: Treble Clef

These set of keys are called the "Treble Clef" keys. As stated previously before they will be played with your right hand. For the lines on the "Treble Clef" staff there you skip a letter starting from "Middle C". So the lines will consist of the keys: E-G-B-D-F. You can easily remember these keys as " Every Good Boy Does Fine". In the spaces of the "Treble Clef" staff it consist of the keys F-A-C-E you can easily remember these keys as self explanatory as it gets "FACE". Once you remember those acronyms you should be set on the right hand.

Step 4: Bass Clef

These set of keys are called the "Bass Clef" keys. As stated previously before they will be played with your left hand. For the lines on the "Bass Clef" staff there you skip a letter starting from "Middle C". So the lines will consist of the keys: G-B-D-F-A You can easily remember these keys as "Good Boys Do Fine Always". In the spaces of the "Bass Clef" staff it consist of the keys A-C-E-G you can easily remember these keys as " All Cows Eat Grass". Once you remember those acronyms you should be set on the left hand.

Step 5: That's It for Now
