Introduction: Recycled 2x4's From 1930's Bank

I got this lumber for eight dollars, the person I got it from told me it came a bank built in the thirties.

Step 1: The Raw Material

After hitting two nail's with my planer, I finally got the lumber clean and smooth.

I took very little off the top layer to keep the patina.

Step 2: Clamping a Different Edge for Effect.

I found one really weather beaten plank, and kept this for the face of the table.

Step 3:

I used six coats of shellac and block sanded it with 320 grit sand paper.

Then used steel wool and wax to give it a honed smooth sheen.

Step 4: Radio Tuner Drawer Handles

I got tuner knobs from an old radio from the 1930's (Radio cabinet was beyond repair)

I used them as handles
