A heated spoon placed on the bite will also quickly remedy the itching. It has to be hot enough, though. Uncomfortably hot. It's my understanding that the heat neutralizes the the venom the mosquito injects. If only it were so easy to deal with fire ant bites! ARGH!

And it does work. The trick is getting the spoon - or anything else that will hold heat - hot enough to work, but not so hot as to burn, and that will stay hot long enough to have the desired effect. But it does work, I promise you!
