Reducing Connectors With Multi-Signal USB Switches




This tutorial from Intersil, explains how you can eliminate redundant connectors by using a single switch that is capable of passing high-speed USB data, power for charging, as well as audio and video signal transmission.

This is the type of solution used on the iPod Shuffle. One connector for power, audio, and data transfer.
