I had an old plastic jar lying around my house- thought it could be sprinkled up and turned into something good-looking. Here's a simple way to create something interesting from recycled things around your house.

Step 1: Materials

Here's what I used to make this particular creation:
- Plastic jar. I think this one was bought at the Dollar Store to hold cookies.
- Acrylic paint
- scraps of wrapping paper
- Mod Podge

Step 2: Assemble

My jar was given two coats of paint, then I attached my wrapping paper. It was easy to tape on one of the ends, and wrap it around snugly using a table for help. A little extra paper could then cover the tape. Since the jar will be sealed, securing the end using a glue stick was sufficient.

Step 3: Seal It

Putting at least two coats of Mod Podge on the jar will keep everything secure. I also put a car air freshener inside it to alleviate the smell of chocolate chip cookies every time I open this jar. Next time, I gotta try this using cartoon strips from the Sunday paper!
