This is a perfect quick and easy build for any pun lover. This paradoxical stone is a very satisfying make.

Step 1: Smash It!

I had a large piece of slate. I wanted the ornament to be small. To make it to a manageable size I carefully smashed the slate against a the base to a bird bath. You can break the slate on anything that is hard.

Step 2: Mark It

I wanted to write the text on 3 lines. You should divide the stone into 3 by measuring it and then marking it with a pencil.

Step 3: Writing

I found it easiest to write the text one line at a time in pencil. You should mark the stone very heavily so you can see where to engrave.

Step 4: Engraving

I used my dremel to engrave the stone. You should use dremel with diamond bur engraving dremel accessory. Then simply follow the text which you have written for yourself in pencil. Another handy tip is to use some water to wipe down the stone after engraved one line. This allows you to see where needs a deeper ingrave and also gets rid of any dust.
