A photo pictorial detailing all of the steps I did to make my custom rocket stove. This presentation was put together before I knew what editing software was but did my best! :) The stove was made in late 2014-early 2015 and still works great to this day. NO MORE CHARCOAL for burns sticks from the yard and free oak mulch I get delivered here! :)

    hello instructablers!

i am about to start building a rocket stove. I am loking for information on how long does it take for the wood to get burned, but i cannot find anything. I know that it depends on the kind of wood i will use, on the dimentions of the opening that the air is sucked from,on how big is the stove., etc

I need to know aproximately how often your oven need to be refilled with an average hard wood. I would like to heat a space with that system but i would like to do other things at the same time and not have in mind of the stove to be refilled too often.. Does anyone have an idea aproximately about those times?

If you dont want to have to constantly monitor wood a rocket stove may not be the best choice. Wood usage depends on sooo many factors they are too numerous to list. I use oak mulch in mine as I use it for cooking so I cant answer your question about hardwoods. Each stove build will use wood at different rates so any answer given by others most likely wont apply to "your build" anyway. Best of luck on your build tho!
