This is a case I made with an old Altoids case. This was an easy five minute project, and will work on any mp3 player that is the size of a 5th gen iPod nano or smaller. (I would like to apologize in advance for the quality of some of the images)

Step 1: Gather the Needed Materials

This relatively simple project needs few materials.
1. Altoids case
2. Old sock (for padding)
3. iPod
4. Headphones (I used apple ear-buds)
5. Drill
6. Drill Bit (I used a 7/32 bit)

Step 2: Padding (optional, But Suggested)

Padding the case has two uses in the project.
1. Protecting the iPod
2. Providing a base for the iPod to sit on so you can drill the hole without worry of accidentally drilling through the bottom of the case.

To create the padding, I cut an old sock to fit the inside of the case as show in the image provided.

Step 3: Drill the Hole

You want to place the mp3 player that you are using inside of the case, and position it how you want it to sit. Them using a sharpie mark on the tin the location of the headphone jack. Take your drill, and drill a hole at this point.

Step 4: Finishing Up

The last thing you need to do to is place the lining in the case, and then the iPod. The iPods headphone jack should be lined up with the
you drilled. If the hole was drilled large enough the headphones should fit CORRECTLY in the iPod.
