About: Hi! I am Klinong, that is how my loving family calls me, except my brother, he calls me Krinyol, as I have silly curly hair :) I love Instructables for forever now, especially for the contests ha-ha!, but ...

Step 1: Ingredients and Method

1 1⁄4 cups sliced almonds, divided

4 oz cream cheese, softened

1⁄2 cup butter (dont subs!), softened

3⁄4 cup icing sugar

1 teaspoon almond extract

1⁄4 teaspoon salt

1 1⁄2 cups flour

black gel food color

food paint brush

This recipe makes about 36 fingers so reserve 36 nuts for later use; process remaining nuts in food
processor until finely ground.

Beat cream cheese, butter, sugar, extract and salt in large bowl with mixer until light and fluffy.

Gradually beat in flour. Stir in almond meal. It will be stiff. Divide into 36 balls (about 1 tbsp each)

Roll each into fingers and place 2 inches apart on baking sheets that has been greased.

Press 1 of the reserved almonds into dough in 1 end of each finger for the fingernail. Use sharp knife to make 3 crosswise slits in top of each finger for the knuckles.

Bake at preheated325 F for 15 to 20 minute or until lightly browned.

Cool 3 minute on baking sheet; carefully transfer to wire racks. Cool completely.

Once cooled, paint gel food lightly on each nails.

Enjoy~

The devil is in the details on these! I love it! The knuckle marks and almond nails-nail it! The almonds & cream cheese must be the secret to them keeping their form. I made them with a regular sugar cookie recipe and they spread all over and were delicious but not the look I was going for!

I've seen them dusted with a little cinnamon too-that makes them even eerier!

Thanks for shaing & Good luck!

It would have made it even creepier if you put food coloring in them and made them green like the traditional witches and maybe add red food coloring on the end for a bloody effect or fake edible blood lol

we do sometimes color the dough green :) and dipping it in warmed strawberry jam or raspberry would be better than using red food coloring for the blood :)
