Introduction: Shaving Brush Concealment

This is a variation of a slightly larger concealment that I saw in a book that I’ve used for inspiration in all of my Instructables so far and probably a couple more to follow. If you’re looking for inspiration for some sort of spy related project it has a lot of detailed photos.

Materials
• Shaving brush
• Bison type tube
• Hot melt glue
• Crazy glue

Tools
• Drill bit that is lightly larger than the bison tube
• Drill bit slightly larger than the point where the bristles meet the handle
• An implement to pry the bristles away from the handle e.g. small scissors or screw driver
• Utility knife
• Hot glue gun
• File
• Sand paper
• Scissors

Step 1: Remove the Bristles

Clamp or carefully hold the handle of the shaving brush and slip the sharp scissors, small knife, or implement of your choice along the edge of the bristles and twist. Work your way around the edge of where the bristles meet the handle until you can remove the bristle plug.

Step 2: Glue the Bristles to the Lid

Take the bristle plug and split it into small sections on the side and one or two pieces at the core.
Hot glue the sections of bristle to lid of the bison tube. Put a bead of super glue along the bottom end of the bristles. Trim the bristles to the same length.

Step 3: Drill the Holes in the Handle

Enlarge the existing hole in the handle with the drill bit slightly larger than the size of the bristle plug. With the drill bit slightly larger than the bison tube, drill a hole almost to the bottom of the handle.

Step 4: Glue in the Bison Tube

With the file, score the body of the bison tube to help to glue bond. Screw bristles onto the body and then hot glue the body into the handle.

Step 5: You’re Done

Sand down any rough edges and assemble. It has enough room for a micro SD card or two, a small roll of paper, microfilm or whatever else you can think of.
