Simple Shoe Horn

Had a hell of a time getting my work boots on one day, and new only a horn could help. So I looked around the shop at work and whipped one up quick and easily. Works great!

Step 1: Materials

Find yourself an old 5 gallon bucket. Mine had a hole in it so it was alright to destroy.

Step 2: Cut

Cut out a rectangle as shown. I used an angle grinder with a cutting disk.

Step 3: Finish It Up

I shaped the curve on one end with a bench grinder, sanded all the edges with sand paper, and drilled a hanging hole. Done and done! No more ripped socks!

Oh my, so simple! I love this idea, and need to make one for myself.

I've had good luck in the past cutting plastic buckets with a jig saw. Might be an option for those that have one, so just a thought. Excellent project!
