Many of those affected by severe locomotor disabilities caused by cerebral palsy or similar conditions may not have fine enough motor skills to control not more than one access button. This device aims to enable such persons to use a single button and a scanning method to choose, select and print chosen symbols on an LCD screen.
Step 1: Materials and Tools
Bill of materials:
- Arduino Uno
- 20x4 LCD screen
- 8x8 LED matrix
- Jumper cables
- 3.5mm jack female
- 10k ohm, 220 ohm resistors
- Power bank and cable
- Nuts and bolts

- Laser cut casing (file attached)
- Soldering Iron
- Solder (flux core)
- Wire cutter/stripper
Step 2: Circuit Diagram
Complete the above circuit diagram using jumper cables.
Step 3: Screw the Arduino to the Base
Screw the Arduino to the base piece with nuts and bolts
Step 4: Secure LCD
Attach the LCD to the front plate with nuts and bolts.
Step 5: Details of 3.5 Mm Jack and Potentiometer
Step 6: Attach Side Plates
Secure the 3.5 mm female jack and potentiometer to the side plate.
