Introduction: Skin Tags: Defined, Cause, and Removal.

An acrochordon (plural acrochorda, and also known as a (cutaneous) skin tag, or fibroepithelial polyp) is a small benign tumor that forms primarily in areas where the skin forms creases, such as the neck, armpit, and groin. They may also occur on the face, usually on the eyelids. Ref.

Now for a quick discourse on the cause of such a growth. I will bring to you words from Dr. Peter Glidden BS, ND; a Naturopathic Doctor.

"The answer is, olive oil is the cause. Well, you know, inflamitory biochemicals (oxygen free radicals) in the body are the cause. Whenever there is an overgrowth of tissue in the body, I don't care if it's an overgrowth in the colon, called a polyup; I don't care if its on the skin; I don't care if it's on the overarys; I don't care where it is. An overgrowth of a tissue is the result of not enough neutrients and inflamation. Theres an inflamitory process happening..." Ref.

Step 1: Removal Options.

You have some options here where it comes to removing the little buggars. There are resources out there that advocate burning or freezing, both of which would take you to a physician for a clean safe procedure. But this is about avoiding expensive medical procedures and doing it yourself at home.
  • You could use a string to 'suffocate' it, but would not prevent another from forming nearby.
  • There is also the option of cutting it off, though, again, this does not prevent another from forming.
  • Prayer has been demonstrated to heal many things, and is not to be discouraged.
  • Healing crystals... I am not versed or familiar with this type of healing.
  • There are two homeopathic methods recommended by Dr. Peter Glidden BS ND. I will share these.

Step 2: Removal Option 1 (temporary Solution)

What you will need:
1 capsule Selenium powder
10 drops Colloidal Silver
1 small container
1 cotton swab
1 band-aid
1 large baby food jar

Mix the contents of the capsule with 10 drops of colloidal silver.
Mix with cotton swab until bright maroon.
Apply paste to skin tag.
Cover with small band-aid.
Store unused paste in the baby food jar, or similar container, to keep solution from drying out.

Re-apply three times per day. The tag should off before the week is out, if not, give it two weeks.

FYI: seems to have stopped selling the Ultimate Colloidal Silver Plus, check your local health and nutrition store, or search online for another reputable vendor. Or make your own... Amazingly simple. Thank you SuicidalBarrelRoll.

Step 3: Removal Option 2 (Permanant Solution)

I do appologize for the picture, we are short two bottles of Selenium for this instructable.

"Your body fights the inflammatory processes with a group of biochemicals called anti-oxidants. We have all have heard of anti-oxidants, Vitamin C being the most famous... Well Vitamin C is a potent anti-oxidant, but the mineral Selenium makes Vitamin C look like a pip-squeak. Because Selenium makes your body recycle its own natural really powerful anti-oxidant called glutathione... When you have enough Selenium in your blood, your body recycles glutathione, and uses it to its maximum efficiency. Which is why Selenium is such a powerful anti-cancer drug. 200mg of Selenium reduces the occurrence of breast cancer by 82 percent, colon cancer by 69 percent, prostate cancer by 64 percent, and lung cancer by 39 percent. Even if you're a smoker. That's remarkable, those are remarkable statistics, because of its anti inflammatory properties. Completely natural, 100 percent. Supports and promotes your bodies natural anti-oxidants.

"So, where I am going with this, with the whole skin tag thing; I know I beat around the bush. That is just how I do it. If you add Selenium into your diet, as a nutritional supplement, and clean your diet up... Stop the inflammatory foods. Stop eating the 10 bad foods yesterday. Get 1 Healthy Start Pack and 1 bottle Plant Derived Minerals per 100 pounds of body weight per month, and 4 bottles of Ultimate Selenium a month. Your skin tags will begin to fall off.

"Why? Because they're not natural. They are like overgrowths of tissue. It's not a natural thing that the body does. It's the result of an imbalance. And when you rectify the imbalance, they fall off. I've had lots of testimonials, myself included, with people getting on board with a solid medical nutrition program and skin tags just fall off. Uterine polyps go away, ovarian polyps disappear, polyps in the colon shrink and shrivel up, and life is good again.

"We don't get these things because we have a bad gene. We don't get these things because we have a voodoo curse. We don't get these things because we live in a polluted environment, or because we are getting older. We get these things because we are eating the wrong food all the time. We don't know any better. Our bodies are completely depleted of the raw materials they need to keep themselves healthy. It is really that simple."

Skin tags are one type of skin to grow around the neck

and other parts. Regardless of age, they can be grown

at any time. They do not pose a health risk and are

not cancerous. They usually occur in the friction of

clothing. Diabetes and obesity can also cause skin

tags. Simply use natural ingredients they disappear

    within 14 to 90 days.

Colloidal silver is actually very bad for your body. It builds up over time and in some people can actually be the cause of a skin disease. If you are thinking about doing this you should really look into the side effects of some of these items

the best thing I have found is to tie a string in a knot around the skin tag (if it's far enough out to tie the string around). Cutting off the blood supply will dry up the skin tag and it will fall off...done many this way.

WildVioldts, The method you use, I discussed very briefly. It is effective at removing them, yes, but does not prevent future growths. The problem with the string method is simply that. I offer two methods not commonly applied. One a Col. Silver/Selenium combination that will cause them to fall off, the other a 'medical nutrition' program that gets at the root of the cause. Once the source of the growths is corrected, they fall off, and stop forming. Think about it, these are little tumors, noticable and many times ignorable, on the surface of your skin. The cause of these little growths on the surface, is also the cause of a variety of growths on the inside, which the string cannot reach.

I recommend looking into this further, Dr.'s Joel Wallach, Ma Lan, and Peter Glidden are forerunners in the field of medical nutrition.
