This is one of my wife's slow cooker meals and one of my favorites. It only takes about ten minutes of prep, at the start, and then about five minutes of prep, 30 minutes before the end, to prep the dumplings.

Step 1: Tools and Ingredients

You will need a knife, cutting board, spoon, and a slow cooker with a lid.

The ingredients you will need are:

2 to 2.5 pounds of chicken breast

10.5 ounce can of condensed cream of chicken soup

14.5 ounce can of chicken broth

7.5 ounce can of instant biscuits

I know that some people will consider canned biscuits cheating, but I am going for easy. If you wanted you could make your dumplings, soup, and broth from scratch. You could even raise your chickens. I am aiming for easy.....the biscuits in a can are an easy way to make dumplings.

Step 2: Wash Your Hands

It is important to wash your hands with soap and warm water. Not just before handling food, but after handling raw meat and other ingredients. If you do not wash your hands, you could increase your chances of getting sick and dying. You have been warned.

Step 3: Trim Off the Grizzly Bits.

Trim off the fatty and grizzly bits of the chicken. You do not want to be chewing on these. You can buy chicken with these bits already cut off, but it is more economical to trim them off yourself.

Step 4: Cut the Chicken Into Chunks

You want to cut the chicken breasts into chunks about three inches long.

Step 5: Put the Chicken in the Pot

You want to put the chicken in the slow cooker. The chicken should line the bottom of the pot. If your chicken is more than one layer thick, you have too much chicken for your slow cooker. You would need to use less chicken or get a bigger slow cooker.

Step 6: Mix in the Soup and Broth

Pour in the entire can of condensed cream of chicken soup, then pour in the chicken broth until it just covers the chicken. Stir all this together to make sure the ingredients are mixed and the chicken chunks are covered.

Step 7: Cook Covered on Medium for Six to Seven Hours

Put the lid on and set the slow cooker to medium. Cook for six to seven hours.

Step 8: Prepare the Dumplings

Use a fresh clean cutting board and knife for this step. You want to cut the biscuit dough into about 1/2 inch square pieces. The biscuits I used needed to be cut into ninths. If your dough chunks are too big, they will not cook and end up being a gooey doughy mess.

Step 9: Put the Dumpling Dough In.

Separate the dough pieces and put them in the slow cooker. Gently stir them in.

Step 10: Cover and Cook on High for 30 Minutes

Put the lid on the slow cooker and cook everything for 30 minutes on high.

Step 11: Check the Doneness

When done, the dumplings should be bread on the inside. If they are still doughy, keep cooking them on high and check them every ten minutes until they are done. To check the chicken, use a meet thermometer and make sure they are at least 180 degrees F.

Step 12: Serve It Up and Enjoy

Now it is time to serve up your chicken and dumplings and enjoy. Don't forget to turn off the slow cooker.

Step 13: Video

As usual, I made a video.

Thank you for viewing and enjoy.
