Social Networks have been around for a while now and they all have the same formula.

1) Get lots and lots of users on the platform

2) Sign up advertisers to advertise to the users on the social platform

3) PROFIT!

The formals is great for the few that run the social network and
profit from it. But how about the millions and millions of users that share their content, whether it's interesting articles, DIY projects, original content or just selfies. They ( that is YOU) are the ones that make the network what it is and yet nobody gets any money from the network.

Step 1: TSU: a New Kid on the Block

This is now changing as there is a new social network that actually distributes a portion of all ad revenue back to the user.

tsū is an invite-only platform that rewards social activity by sharing 90% of the ad revenues with all users. it's your content. own it. only on tsū.

TSU stared late 2014 and has over 4 million users online including directors, actors, singers and other prominent people and a lot of charities. The best I can describe it is as a morph between Facebook and Instagram. As it is still young, new features are constantly added to benefit the users.

Step 2: What to Do

If you are interested in trying it out simple sign up. Find a shortcode from a TSU user and sign up

Here is mine if you want to try it out: http://www.tsu.co/PawelG

Once you are on, add a profile picture, banner and description so everybody will know a little about you.

You can also link your Facebook account and Twitter account. One good thing about the platform is that, if you want, you can automatically cross post to FB and Twitter from TSU. This will allow you to post on 3 networks with one click.

Just as with any new social network it will take a little bit to get used to but I find the interface clean and easy to use.

You can search using hashtags for whatever you want, explore popular posts y other users, find people, follow them, request to be a friend, etc.

You are of course encourage to be social and interact of course.

Step 3: Posting

Just like with any social network you can post links to articles, pictures, your own stuff etc.

One thing is that TSU encourage original content so if you post a picture from google, that is frowned upon and royalties might be withheld (more on that later). Having said that the best thing to do is if you want to post a picture, just take the picture yourself and post it. Your own the picture, you earn royalties on it.

I like to share articles, including DIY stuff from Instructables, environmental news, my woodworking items and my photography.

Step 4: Royalties

This is where TSU differentiates itself from all other social networks.

When you post something, your post gets consumed. The wider the audience the more exposure and the larger your share of the royalties. Ever night this is all tallied up and the 90% of all ad revenue is divided among the users depending on their exposure. http://www.tsu.co/PawelG

Your mileage may vary.:

You can see at the top that I'm at $76.50 currently with $0.22 paid in royalties the day before. It may not look like much but it's a lot more than you get from Facebook or any other social network. If you are active on it it will just grow and grow. LOTS of people (and I'm not talking about celebrities, but general users) on the network already made hundreds in royalties and have the cheques to prove it.

Minimum payout if you want to request a cheque is $100 so I'm getting close :)

Step 5: Charity and Community

What else can you so with your royalties earned?

GIVE IT AWAY!

I mentioned in the above step that I'm currently at $76. Well this is not the real truth. I had a lot more but I gave some to charity. Why? Because I can. http://www.tsu.co/PawelG

There are a growing number of registered and verified charities on TSU and they benefit directly from being on the network. You can transfer a portion of the money directly to other users or these charities if you want.

The TSU network has a sense of community as many band together and challenge each other to donate. There is 5 Cent Tuesday and Dime Friday and such where people donate a little bit to their charity of choice. It may look like a little but image milllions of people give 1 cent to a charity multiple times a week. It adds up and everybody is happy.

Step 6: The Guy With a Vision Who Started It All

The guy who started TSU is Sebastian Sobczak and he is really a down to earth guy.

He believes that a social network is made up of not just the people that run the network but also the users that contribute content to the network as well as the advertisers and that everybody should benefit, including the users.

You can see him interviewed here on FOX news:

I was in New York recently and actually had a chance to drop into their headquarters. They are a very friendly bunch and welcomed me into their office and showed me around. It was a pleasure meeting all the hard working folks, including the CEO of TSU himself.

I am quite happy using TSU and find that a barely go on facebook anymore. Whatever I post on TSU can automatically go to my Facebook account anyway.

I would suggest INSTRUCTABLES themselves join TSU and they can post to their FB account directly from TSU and generate royalties automatically just by posting. Personally I think it's a win-win for everybody.
