Introduction: South Pacific Crate

Today Im going to teach you how to build an ammo crate for a play!!!

Step 1: STARTING OFF

To start off you will need 1 or 2 long pieces of wood. (2x4). Cut the wood into 4 pieces 7 1/8th inches using a Chopsaw. Make sure you use safety glasses during all steps.

Step 2: TOP PIECES OF CRATE

The top pieces of the box will be made using plywood which is a tad thinner than the (2x4) we used in the last step. Cut two 2 3/4 inches x 17 inches out of a larger piece using the table saw. Make sure that the blade in the table saw You can make all the measurements you will need using measuring tape.

Step 3: SIDE PIECES OF CRATE

Now we will be making the side pieces for our crate. For this step we will need more plywood but the measurements will be a bit different than before. The Shorter side will be 17 3/4th inches x 14 inches. The longer side we will need 2 1/2 inches x 14 inches. Just like the last step we will be using the measuring tape to make our measurements and the table saw for our cutting.

Step 4: PUTTING IT AL TOGETHER

For this step we will be using a battery powered drill with a philips head. The screws we will be using are 2 1/12th inches. Lay your longer piece of plywood down and place a 2x4 that you cut on the corner. Then do the same with another 2x4 on the other side. Take a side piece and place it on the outside of the 2x4's and screw it all together. Then do the same for the top piece.

Step 5: DECORATION

Once the crate is built paint all the sides with grey and bluish colored primer but only slightly to give it a grayish hue. This is supposed to make the crate look worn as if it sits in the sun all day. Then take military related stencils and place them on the sides of your box. You then can use black spray paint to fill them in.

Step 6: ALL DONE

And then your done!!! You have now successfully created your ammo crate!!!
