This is a sphero maze that another student in my Kinetics class and I worked on. We worked on this project over the course of ten days doing coding, building, and design.
Step 1: Design
The first thing we did for our project was design what the maze was going to look like. We drew out blueprints for the physical maze and used examples like mazes pictured above for inspiration.
Step 2: Materials

Step 3: Building
For this sphero maze, it took about five days to completely construct the maze in the class periods. We used cardboard, hot glue, and rulers to measure and construct the maze. In order to make the maze, the cardboard needs to be cut, using the exacto knife, into one large square for the base and then strips of cardboard need to be cut out for the walls of the maze. I used a ruler to make sure that the maze base was an even rectangle and then I also used the ruler to make sure my walls were all the same height.
Step 4: Coding
In order to make the sphero follow the maze, we used the app Sphero.edu and wrote code for each step the sphero needed to take. This took about two class periods, and in order to write the code we had to use my cell phone.
Step 5: Step 5: Finish Designing
For the last step, my classmate and I designed a weebly page meant to showcase our project. We also finished completing our maze and made the last finishing touches on the project.
