Spicy Potato Fries

I'm sure potato fries are everyone's favorite and different people use different recipes for it. Me and my sisters usually like spicy potato fries so I thought I'd share the recipe in instructables. They are delicious, especially with tomato sauce.

Step 1: Ingredients

Ingredients needed for this recipe:-

  1. Potatoes (small or medium size 3-4 or as you want)
  2. Unused oil (to fry)
  3. Rice flour- half cup
  4. All purpose flour - half cup
  5. Chili powder- 1 tsp
  6. Turmeric powder- 1 tsp
  7. Cumin powder- 1 tsp
  8. Coriander powder- 1 tsp
  9. Salt (for taste).

Step 2: Cutting the Potatoes

Peel, wash and cut the potatoes into thin strips.

Step 3: Adding Spice and Flour

Take a bowl to mix the potatoes (after cutting) with spice and flour.

First mix the potatoes with spice and then the rice flour.

The spices will make the fries spicy in the inside and the rice flour will make it crispy from the outside.

You can add more spice if you want. After mixing all the ingredients keep it in a cool and dry place for 10 minutes.

Step 4: Frying

Take a medium pan and heat oil over medium heat.

Take the spiced potatoes out of refrigerator and carefully add them to the pan after the oil heats up.

Stir while frying, it'l take around 10-15 minutes for the potatoes to turn a bit brownish ( actually that would be the rice flour!, I guess).

When it turns a bit brownish they're ready. Use a slotted spoon to take the fries out of the oil and serve them as you want!

    Finally made them. Came out darker cus of more spices. Was sooo good!

    Never thought of flour for chips...and all the extra spices...usually i only add salt and chilli powder! my mouth is watering just thinking of trying out your recipe...will do it ASAP! thanks for posting :-)
