Introduction: Square Amplified HDTV Antenna
This guide will tell you everything you need to know about how to assemble and install your Square Amplified HDTV Antenna from FoxSmart.
Step 1: Unbox and Identify Components
Remove all components from the box. You should have the following (clockwise from the top):
- Antenna (1)
- Coax cable (1)
- AC adapter (1)
- Pegs (2)
Step 2: Stand
Install one peg into each of the two holes on the bottom corners of the back of the antenna. When done successfully, your antenna should look like the one pictured above.
Step 3: Coax Cable
Attach the molded end of the coax cable to the left port on the back center of the antenna.
Once installed successfully, your antenna should look like the one pictured above.
Step 4: AC Adapter
Plug the small end of the AC adapter into the port on the back of the antenna, in the center.
Note: there are two ports in the back center of the antenna. The AC adapter plugs into the port on the right.
Step 5: Install
Plug the AC adapter into your wall outlet. Plug the coax cable into the 'video in' or 'antenna in' port on your TV.
Step 6: Scan for Channels
Once installed, turn your TV on. Go into your TV's 'settings' menu, then select the 'scan for channels' option. It may take several minutes for your TV to scan for all available channels. Once completed, you should have access to local broadcasting stations like CBS, NBC, OETA, etc. Check FCC.gov for a full list of channels available in your area.
Now, sit back, relax, and enjoy your brand spankin' new antenna. Have a beer and watch free TV.
Step 7: ...did You Say FREE TV?
Yes. Now that you've installed your antenna, you've taken the first step toward a life without cable bills and 6 hour tech appointment windows. Complete the process by picking up a streaming media player (we like Apple TV or Roku) and a subscription to Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, Crackle, and other streaming services.
