Step 1: Supplies
To make these pins you will need:
A pin. It doesn't really matter what kind.
An X-Acto knife.
One 2mm thick sheet of craft foam.
One soda can.
Some gorilla glue.
Step 2: Drink
Drink the entire contents of the can.
Step 3: Getting the Aluminium.
Use the X-Acto knife to cut open the can.
I'll have pics soon.
Step 4: Template
Download and print one of the templates.
In this 'ible i'm using the science template.
Step 5: Cut
Cut the aluminum into the shape of the template.
Usually i can get three per can.
Step 6: Glueing
Step 7: Cutting the Foam.
Cut the foam into the inner shape of the template.
Step 8: Polishing
If you are going to polish your pins, now would be the best time.
Step 9: Applying the Foam.
Glue the foam piece onto the front of the pin.
Use the X-Acto knife to cut off the extra glue.
Step 10: Done!
Now take your pin and show it off to you fellow Trekkies, or make a bunch an sell them.
Remember to post pics of your pins!
Below is the song i was listening to while i was making this.
