Intro: Steampunk Headphones

These headphones were inspired by the Steampunk Headset created by Garagemonkeysan, and, alas, i can't create a full-blown instructable on how to make these, as most of the ingredients were scavenged from other things (boots... magic tricks... bullet belts...). Anyway, I hope you like these, as this is my first constructive project, and I personally am quite pleased with the result.

PS... another reason i can't make an instructable is because i didn't think of taking pictures during the creative process.

Looking at these gave me a probably unoriginal idea. But what if you add a flip up and flip down goggles. As a single piece it'd be pretty sweet. If you could add a leather lower face mask like that pig faced gunner from water world its would be a steam punk dream come true

It's the back of an iPod with a steampunk skin on it, from gelaskins.com i think... It looks more realistic there than it does in real life :P

just because you used stuff other people don't have, doesn't mean you can't write an instructable. half the idea of an instructable is that people will adapt it to what they have around them

Good point... I just thought it seemed a bit stupid to put "Cut a 'strap' off of a boot, and then stick both ends on in a crude fashion'... Just thought it was more sensible for people to see what they look like and do it their own way, as the instructions would only be as much help as a picture... unless you have exactly the same stuff as me....

They're not that bad actually, they sit quite gently, rather than really clamping down. I suppose you could say they're not as comfy as DJ headphones or a modern day headset, but they're comfy enough for an hour or more's listening.
