Structural Quick Connection Joint System Prototype

This is a full scale prototype of a joint system that could find itself in any space frame system.  the connections between the ball and the aluminum tubing are friction based.  the goal of this joint was to introduce increased degrees of freedom allowing for countless configurations within the system.  The ball is 8 inches in diameter and the aluminum tubes are 2 inches in diameter.  the joint was design in rhino.

Is it possible for you to post the rhino model? I'm working on a project at my university and I've been having trouble moddeling a space frame connector

So; I need about a hundred per structure. Are they commercially available yet?

I love this. Please tell me you have a Kickstarter set up for this. I want to see a full-scale!
