These sugar cookies are delicious and fun to make.

Step 1: Set Out the Ingredients

3/4 cup of shortening
3/4 cup of butter
2 cups of sugar
4 eggs
2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
5 cups of flour
2 teaspoon of baking powder
2 teaspoon of salt

Step 2: Cream Shortening, Butter and Sugar

Add eggs and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined. Stir in flour, baking powder, and salt; mix until well combined. Chill for at least one hour.

Step 3: Preheat Oven to 400 F

Roll out the cookie dough and cut it out with cookie cutters. Place on an ungreased cookie sheet. Cook for 6 to 8 minutes or until golden brown.

Step 4: Make the Icing

5 cups of powder sugar
5 tablespoons of milk
2 1/2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
Mix sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Ice the cookies once cooled.
