About: Hi! Welcome to YayForYarn.com. I am a yarn enthusiast and collector. I learned to crochet and knit at a young age. After many years of practice and learning, I now enjoy creating and publishing my own pat…

These might be the easiest socks you’ll ever crochet! Worked sideways in rows for extra stretch and comfort, these simple crochet socks will keep your toes toasty warm.

Instructions for extra wide feet are included. These are great for swollen feet or ankles, and make a great gift if you don’t know the recipient’s exact shoe size.

Step 4: Finishing

Fold piece in half so that row 30 touches the foundation chain.
Thread the long tail through your yarn needle. Whip stitch the foundation chain to the front loop only of row 30.

When you have stitched all the sts of the foundation chain to the sts of row 30, you should reach the starting tail of your sock. Leave the yarn needle on the seaming yarn. Tie the seaming yarn in a double-knot with the starting tail.

Insert your yarn needle into the next few major loops around the edge of the toe opening. Pull the seaming yarn through and repeat around the opening until you reach the starting tail again.

Pull the seaming yarn tight to close the toe opening. Tie the seaming yarn in a double-knot with the starting tail. Weave in ends.

To Block:

Lay socks on an ironing board or thick towel, and/or insert sock blockers into the socks. Hold a steaming iron 2-3 inches away from fabric. Turn socks over and repeat. Allow to cool completely.

OR

Spray water on the socks until fairly damp, allow to dry.
