Hello.

In this instructable i will show you how to synchronize-transfer files or photos to your linux pc from ipad/iphone without using itunes or wine compability layer.

This works with all debian based distros. Open up a terminal and copy paste the following 2 lines (1 by 1).

First we update our system..

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install libimobiledevice-utils libimobiledevice-dev libgpod-dev

That's it. After those steps connect your ipad, iphone and you're ready to go.

Check from a terminal by typing "ideviceinfo" if it print details about your device. Congrats.

I have upload a video also in youtube check it out.

I'm sorry, but it didn't work for me!
    I'm running Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, 32-bit.
Don't feel bad though, nothing ever seems to work on my damn computer! haha?
It seems every time I complete a step -ESPECIALLY the "last" and "final" step i.e. that special line right before they feed you more BS about the utopia they've just created for you- there's always something else my computer wants or is missing, in spite of searching and finding the specific set of instructions specific to my specific distribution of Linux, specifically.
To re-clarify, specifically, this is NOT aimed specifically toward the author of this specific post (HarrisA3), I'm just trying to understand why everybody else's mishaps work out when I do the EXACT same thing, for that specific reason, and yet (I guess) for my PC nothing works, and I can't find any specified reason. Anyways, sorry for my rant, all I'd like to do is set up my iPad (WiFi is very limited) and if you could please, properly assist with this I'd greatly appreciate it! Thank you!

    Sincere, Flustered & Almost Hopeless,
    Me. :)

You may need to install usbmux also with,

    #sudo apt install usbmuxd.
