TAMPON FIRESTARTER, WATERPROOF !!

Introduction: TAMPON FIRESTARTER, WATERPROOF !!

Have a bunch of tampons (unused !!!) lieing around from your ex or from your younger days?? Well, its a simple and top firestarter for your camping, EVEN ON WET DAYS!!

Step 1:

cut any candle(bee wax better) into an empty can

Step 2:

melt the wax to fill in about half of inside.

unwrap tampons and hang them by the loop string on their back on a stick.

Step 3:

lower them into the can.

MAKE SURE WAX NOT TOO HIGH AS ITS FLAMEABLE AND CAN EASY GET IGNATED!!!

notice bubles in wax, thats wax replasing air inside the tampons..

Step 4:

once bubbles stopped(about 5-10min), lift tampons out, let extra wax drip back into can for 1min.

hang them in the air separate from each other to cool down

Step 5:

cut each tampon accross with a sharp knife every 5mm, avoiding fluffing.

take one and fluff it up in your hand.

Step 6:

try to lit up one fluffed piece..

it will give you about 5min of fire(depending on quolity and puriness of the wax).

strore your cuts in a ziplock bag or a container(wax already made them waterproof).

happy camping ;)

I voted for this. It is a great idea. I have a fire pit in my yard and can definitely save wax from previous candles to create this. Good luck!

Reading only the title I thought this was kinda icky but once I read the instructable and saw they were NEW tampons I thought the idea was brilliant!

(BTW...menopausal women have an excess of these too!)

To me, your entry well supports the idea behind a "reclaimed" contest so you got my vote!

thanks mate. by the way.. some natives used menopausal blood of their women on spears and arrows, as a poison.. To me, in this world, things are what one believe they are, to them.. ;)

    again, thanks for your support
