Introduction: THE HOT COFFEE SMOOTHIE! KETO FRIENDLY
I keep ketogenic diet, I had a happy accident in which my lifestyle lead to a GREAT breakfast experiment. Breakfast on the go with keto is hard, so i normally would mix coconut oil and coffee an be on my way. Fiber is also an issue, for those on keto know things don't "run regular". I added a tablespoon of psyllium flakes in my coffee, blended it up and presto! HOT SMOOTHIE. It was unique and lovely with the bonus of added fiber, i present to you without further ado here's what you need to experience the HOT COFFEE SMOOTHIE!
- Blender with heat resistant Container
- 2 cups Black coffee (your preference)
- 1 tablespoon of Psyllium fiber flakes (gives the smoothie texture)
- 1 heaping tablespoon of coconut oil
- Sweetener to taste (myself stevia)
- Cinnamon to garnish

Step 1: Really Only a One Step Process
Brew your 2 cups of coffee, I chose a dark roast and brew a little on the strong side.
Next place your coffee in a heat resistant blender container.
Add your Psyllium fiber, Coconut oil, Sweetener (my case stevia) to taste.
Thoroughly blend until frothy and pour into your favorite mug! Garnish with cinnamon.
This specific recipe is great for people on a Ketogenic Diet and correct me if i am wrong VEGAN!
You can also vary the coconut oil with a unsalted grass fed butter if you are not vegan, and substitute stevia extract for low calorie sucrslose.
SInce I discovered this new coffee i have experimented on chai, matcha and mint :/ so far the coffee is still the number one. I recommend this if you are on a ketogenic to get the calories and fiber you need in the morning BUT don't forget your nutrients supplement them with a greens for happy good health!
