Introduction: Temperature Sensing Cup Lid
Aaron Worthington, Anna Everett, Ilya Sidorov
Problem Statement: Coffee is too hot when first made! We’re busy people, and busy people don’t have time to keep track of the temperature of their morning bean water. Why can’t we just have something to tell us when we can drink our hot drink?
How it works:
The universal coffee lid placed on top of the cup can notify his/her user about the favorable or too hot temperature of the liquid inside of the cup. In order to manage this device, simply install it on top of the cup and press the power button it will immediately light up one the white ON/OFF LED. The thermometer that passes through a waterproof pipe will be able to measure the temperature in a cup. If the temperature in the cup will higher than it coded then the red LED will light up, but if the temperature is lower then white LED will light up, which means it's is ready to drink. The code repeats every minute and when the temperature changes, it will notify the owner.

Step 1: 3D Print
The Lid has 4 parts to print.
Printing in small parts is faster and secure.
1)The Top with spots for 3LEDS, Buzzer, and Power Button(ON/OFF).
2)The Bottom part where all electronics will be located.
3)The Middle part that connects the top and bottom parts together.
Step 2: Code
Upload the Code to NodeMCU
Step 3: Electronics
1. Putting all electronic connect to NodeMCU, when putting the electronics in the project together, simply just getting all the wires to go together. Connecting the wires together to be able to connect them to the nodeMCU via solder was the most difficult to achieve.
Step 4: Solder
Now carefully solder everything together, make sure that all wires do not cross each other and use tape if needed to keep all wireless save and follow safety rules.
Step 5: Put All Together (Glue+Silicone)
In order to correctly and accurately combine all the details, you need to start with the spread of silicone on the end of the pipe to connect it with the thermometer. Second, use glue to install the 3 LEDs and the power button on the top of the lid. The last step is to combine all the main parts and place all electronics inside of the lid, use glue and silicone to protect the electronics from water.
Step 6: Test It!
Test it in the real world, find it useful and enjoy your drink!
