If you're a parent, you are all too familiar with lost socks and cold ankles on your baby. It's amazing how fast a sock can go rogue — one minute your swaying back and forth trying to sooth your cyclone of a child and the next your looking down at a naked foot, toes wiggling in the breeze. The crazy thing is that the sock has disappeared altogether even though your soothing shuffle was contained to a 10-foot space. There is something about baby socks that just don't want to stay on the foot. Either by design, to make you buy more socks, or maybe it's science — a combination of the physics of the smoothness of baby skin, gravity, and constant movement.
And if you thought losing thousands of socks throughout a baby's tenure was bad enough, another issue is having baby pants ride up exposing the bare skin between the top of the socks and the bottom of the pants. Also known as C.A.C.C.B: Cold Ankles Creates Cranky Babies. When your baby has cold ankles, they are going to be pissed and share this outrage with loud cries, erratic movements, eye gouging, and nose pulling.
So how do we fix these significant issues with baby socks and pants? Easy, follow this instructable or start carrying your baby upside down. I recommend following this instructable because carrying your baby upside down will only fix your lost socks issue, but C.A.C.C.B. will still be rampant, not to mention the judging eyes of your neighbors.

Step 2: Remove Socks and Pants From Baby
It's important to remove the socks and pants from your baby before trying to install buttons snaps to their garments. Due to the extreme wiggle abilities of babies, you'll do more harm than good trying to install buttons on clothes your baby is currently wearing. You don't want to be that parent that needs to explain to the emergency room doctor why a button snap is installed on the side of your baby's leg.
Step 3: Install the Button Snaps on the Socks and Pants
Using a button snaps toolkits is super simple. There are couple different types so you will want to reference the instructions of the particular kit you buy to make sure you do it correctly. The kit I will be using to illustrate this step is the one I referenced in Step 1 (https://amzn.to/2SFzlJ0).
I usually only install one snap button per sock and pant leg, but if your baby is a tasmanian devil, you might want to install two snaps on each sock and pant leg. When you're installing the snaps you want to make sure the smooth part is touching the baby's skin, and that snaps are installed in the correct orientation. For example, if you have the smooth part of the snap piece touching the babies skin, the other smooth top will be on the outside of the pant leg.
I usually just eyeball where to install the button snaps. Ideally, you want the snaps to line up as close as possible where the pant leg overlaps the sock. Note that it's best to install the snap on the pant leg through thicker parts of the material to improve durability.
Step 4: Re-install Pants and Socks on Baby
Once you put the pants and socks back on your baby, all you need to do is snap the socks to the pants. That's it. Now you can dance the night away without worries of lost socks or unwanted cases of C.A.C.C.B.
