Introduction: The Hard Rock Alarm Clock
Morning workouts are great, except for the fact that they are in the morning. You should have a protein shake, but you want/ need your coffee. Enter the Hard Rock Alarm Clock.
This is a low sugar/ low carb smoothie.
Net Carbs: 3.5g
1 cup of ice in your blender pitcher
1 scoop Vanilla Protein Powder
1 rounded teaspoon Psyllium Husk Powder. This acts as a thickener, and keeps the smoothie from separating. The added fiber keeps you from feeling hungry during your workout.
1-2 tablespoons sugar-free flavored syrup. I used Hazelnut.
1 cup strong, brewed coffee. Cooled. Coffee People Organic is BOMB!

Step 1: Protein and Fiber.
Add 1 scoop of vanilla protein powder to the ice. I like to use a whey protein powder that is low in carbs.
Add 1 rounded teaspoon of Psyllium Powder.
Step 2: Deliciousness.
Add 1-2 tablespoons of sugar-free flavored syrup. I used Hazelnut, but Irish Cream or chocolate would be good too!
Step 3: Caffeinate.
Pour in a cup of strong coffee. It helps to brew the night before and keep it in the refrigerator until you need it.
Step 4: Blenderize.
Blend until smooth.
Step 5: Rock On.
Consume frothy deliciousness.
