Introduction: The Marimba

The Marimba is a percussion musical instrument.
This consist of a set of woden bars with resonators. The bars are struck with mallets to produce musical tones. The bars are arranged as those of a piano, with the accidentals raised vertically and overlapping the natural bars to aid the performer both visually and physically. This instrument is a type ofxylophone, but with broader and lower tonal range and resonators.

Step 1: First Step

The first step for do a Marimba is make or design a drawing with The Marimba or the parts of the marimba.

Step 2: The Wooden Keyboard

The keyboard is made from a tree called "Palo Rosa"
The "Palo Rosa" was choosen because is easy to work with, is durable and this wood produces a peculiar sound.

Step 3: The Wood Resonance Box

The wood used to produce them resonance boxes is wood of cedar or cypress.
At the end of the box has an end wax that helps the sound prolongation.

Step 4: The Material of the Sticks

The upper end of the stick is a ball made of rubber with a coating of pigskin.
The material of the sticks is wood of maple or rattan.

Step 5: The Marimba Table

The table of the marimba is made with special wood, can be have wood finishes and the name of the marimba.
This process is very long and complicated because the wood is very delicate and for the marimba has a good sound has to be a good job.
