Introduction: The Miniature Viking-Pult

Is it a rainy day? Are you bored? Do you need something to do? Are you looking for a project?

BUILD THE MINIATURE VIKING-PULT!!!!

For me, yes, yes, yes, yes, and YEEESSS. This 2 1/2 inch catapult is the perfect quick project.

SINSE THIS IS A CATAPULT DEVICE, HANDLE WITH CARE AND DO NOT AIM AT PEOPLES HEADS (TO BE SAFE TRY TO AIM AT TARGETS, HOOPS, OR WALLS). ANY INJURIES RESULTING FROM BUILDING OR FIRING OBJECTS FROM THIS CATAPULT CANNOT BE BLAMED ON ME.

What you will need

*6 Toothpicks
*Hot glue gun (and glue)
*2 medium thick rubber bands
*Duct tape
*A bag of beans, or other small projectile (marshmallows, peppercorns, corn, paper, wet toilet paper, the options are practically limitless).

Step 1. Hot glue three of the toothpicks together to form a triangle. Do this on a piece of paper and use lots of glue.

Step 2. Hot glue one toothpick to each corner of the triangle of toothpicks so that they meet at a point.

Step 3. Cut the 2 rubber bands.

Step 4. You do not need to stretch the rubber bands out during this step. Securely tie one side of a cut rubber band to one side of the toothpick tetrahedron, and tie the other side of the band to the opposite side of the tetrahedron.

Step 5. Loop the other cut rubber band under the rubber band you just secured, and securely tie the 2 ends to the top of the tetrahedron. If done correctly, all of the rubber bands should be tied on one face of the tetrahedron (one in each corner).

Step 6. Rip off a small piece of duct tape, and fold it over the point where the 2 rubber bands intersect, there should be no stickiness if you feel the duct tape after it is folded.

Step 7. pull back one side of the rubber band on top (the one you placed last) to the opposite end of the tetrahedron. Load a bean into the duct tape basket you made, and let go. the bean should go up to 48 feet with black beans (How far I got mine to go). If the bean (or other projectile doesn't stay in the basket, you might need to add aanother strip of duct tape to make a bigger basket.

Ways to entertain yourself with this catapult.

1. I recommend marshmallows for this. Shoot projectile at people and hide the miniature catapult from sight, they will never know who shot them.

2. Build a small castle out of rolls of paper, position knights on it, and try to knock it down. Beans are a good projectile for this.

3. Shoot into cups or targets.

4. Invent a sport with any number of people involving the catapult (try launching marshmallows for people to catch in their mouths?) be creative.

Thanks for reading this instructable, now go destroy some things, cure your boredom, or annoy someone, MWA HA HA.
