Hi! Thanks for thinking up this instructible!! My grand daughter supervised as her dad and I carved out her choices, one of which being this one! We used real pumpkins and it went smooth as could be! She was absolutely thrilled and I was very impressed that it was sos easy! Thank you again!

nice, except even after signing up via Facebook, I can't download the template. Waste of time.

I made it tonight. I will probably tweek mine a little, but it's done. :D Thank you so much! :D

WELL DONE! I have been using Pumpkin Masters since the 80's and teaching classes for 8 years. (spoken in deep voice) "You've done well young Padawan."

Hi...check out Mom's Got Ink on FB. She stole your images from this post and didn't give any credit or links.

Nicely done. Did you toss the drill bit after you were done? I've found in the past that pumpkins really do a number on metal.

the artical states "

silhouette from Google image. Print it out and tape it to your pumpkin." The key word there is artificial....

It's a Funkins, They don't last for 2 or 3 days like the real pumpkins these artificial pumpkin last for many many years, I box my Tinkerbell pixie dust Pumpkin and mailed it to my Mommy she was so happy that it was made by me. Love these Funkins!

Very cool! would use year round and not just Halloween (since an artifical pumpkin) ;)

Hello dear Luis, thank you so much for sharing this lovely idea with us , may I ask you from where you bought the artificial pumpkin , is there any online shop you recommend ?

Got this artificial pumpkin when they were 40% off at Joanns with a extra coupon I paid Like $12 that was then But they were at Michaels store, Hobby Lobby and home Depot too. I really want to get more after the Halloween sales but they were all sold out:(

Just wanted to let you know, I used a real pumpkin with a small lite bulb and won 1st place at work. Thanks again for the idea!

Wow 1s Price That's great Feels like I won too, Just happy for you and your carving came out absolutely magical Great work done!

Thank you for the tutorial! I made this out of a real pumpkin as a test run before trying on an artificial one as I didn't want to ruin the one that is quite a bit more expensive.
In your pictures, Tink was so bright it seemed to take away from her detail a bit, so I used an Exacto knife to trace the 'pokes', pealed off the skin carefully & then scrapped away some of the flesh in her silhouette. Once the inside was cleaned out, I scrapped the inside right behind her a little more to make the wall a bit thinner to allow more light through. Very happy with the result & thank you for your guidance : )
