Toasting Walnuts

Introduction: Toasting Walnuts

About: Made in Canada, I grew up crafting, making, and baking. Out of this love for designing and creating, I pursued a BFA in product design from Parsons School of Design in NYC. Since then I've done work for Mart...

This super simple technique turns mild, raw walnuts into a powerful flavor force that add extra oomph to baking recipes that call for walnuts, or just about anything else!

Step 1: Get Ready

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Once oven is ready, take 1/2 cup of raw walnuts and spread them out on a baking sheet (no nut stacking) and put them in the oven on the middle rack.

Set your timer for 10 minutes.

Step 2: Shake It!

Every 2-3 minutes, give the pan a little shake and the nuts a little stir.

Step 3: The Big Finish

And voila! You now have a delicious ingredient for baked goods or a topping for yogurt and salads.
