About: I've been building and engineering since as far back as I can remember. My first building toys were those wooden blocks, and at age 4, I upgraded to cereal box samples of K'nex. I also participate in sports,...

Intro: UKP (Universal Knex Pistol)

UKP v3 https://www.instructables.com/id/UKP-v3/

A project I've been working on "on and off" this initially started off as my Desert Eagle project back in august of last year (forum topic was removed). From time to time I would change a part here, add something there and eventually came to what you see now. Any suggestions are welcome, and don't hesitate to be critical.

Features:
- NEW (at least I think it is) removable magazine system (more in depth below)
- Iron sights
- trigger guard

Stats:
- 5 round standard clip or 3 round quick clip (a quick clip can be loaded in around 1.5 seconds)
- 20-40ft range
- relatively compact

Cons:
- last round occasionally jams
- small mag capacity

The magazine:
- the magazine uses an angled pistol handle sort of like the one seen on the TDS. This angle is slightly greater than the TDS's angle do to a different placement of rods. This increased angle allows for the acceptance of GD1 mags that lock into the handle of the pistol via small cracks in the handle.

The idea behind this gun was to combine the compactness of the TDS and the removable mag/ larger round of the GD1 (which are both excellent knex guns in their own ways) it was just a bonus that it ended up looking like a USP...

Not a new magazine system. Me and Visper made a Micro Uzi with a removable mag like that. Make the trigger block behind the handle, by using a Seleziona type bullpup trigger system.

Which one of your Uzi's? I want to see... I don't think it locks the same way as mine... and not at the angle my pistol has... because a micro Uzi would have a vertical handle...

Oh wait it is, sorry. I didn't notice the bullets where vertical. Buy a small spring, that way you can have an internal mag pusher.

hmm... do you think it would be worth the increased range to change the whole look of the gun? I mean if its only another 5 ft then it might not be worth it... plus... (this part is really bad) I don't know exactly how my gun's ammo feed system works... it just does... lol... somehow a broken orange connector rotates the round from vertical to horizontal directly behind the trigger... also the lach of the trigger mech being right there might make the round fall out... I'll take some internal pictures for you to look at (if you want) maybe you could make a suggestion...

I'll have the pics ASAP please. I think I know how it works, but it would only work with smooth ended ammo. It would not be five feet range, more like 20ft extra.
