This is my first Instructable ever. Of course it has to be some sort of food. It is a Polish sausage, wrapped in bulk hot Italian sausage, wrapped in "skillet steak", wrapped in bacon. Never before did I have all of these at the same time, but I know that I like them all on their own, so I decided to combine everything and give it a shot.
Step 1: Collect Meats!
Gather the meats that will be combined together to make greasy goodness.
Step 2: Flatten / Roll Out Bulk Sausage
I sprayed cooking spray on a sheet of waxed paper (for easier release),added approximately 4 oz. hot italian sausage, and covered with another sheet of waxed paper. Then I flattened the patty with a squishing mechanism. (In this case I used a dinner plate)
Step 3: Gift Wrap the Polish Sausage in the Italian Sausage.
Here I left the flattened Italian sausage on the waxed paper and placed the Polish sausage on top. Using the waxed paper as an assistive device I began rolling until the Polish sausage was enveloped.
Step 4: Raise the STEAKS
I pre-tenderized the steaks with a piercing type meat tenderizer. Then I put my sausage wrapped sausage at one edge of the steak and proceeded to wrap yet again.
Step 5: Finally the Last Layer of Bacony Goodness.
Wrap the steak wrapped, sausage wrapped sausage with bacon. Mine required 2 slices each. Affix the bacon at the ends of the steak / sausage assembly and where the 2 slices meet in the middle with toothpicks. *DISCLAIMER* I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGES DONE TO YOUR BODY BY TOOTHPICKS SHOULD YOU FORGET TO REMOVE THEM!
Step 6: Time to Cook.
I chose to bake mine in the oven, as it is still quite chilly outside this time of year in Pennsylvania. But, I'm sure that these could be prepared on the grill if you so choose. I preheated the oven to 350° F. I cooked for approximately 45 minutes. (please check internal temperature before consumption, as under-cooked food could promote food borne illnesses)
Step 7: Remove Toothpicks, and Serve
Remove toothpicks and discard them. Put on Bun, and add your favorite Cheese, toppings, and condiments. Enjoy!
