Introduction: Up-cycled Cardboard Money Clip

About: I am a young author and crafter. I enjoy making easy crafts that are fun for everyone.

Do want a money clip but don't want to spend $15-$50 on a product. Well, you've come to the right Instructable! I am gonna show you how to take an old piece of cardboard and make a functional money clip.

Step 1: Gather Your Supplies

For this Instructable you are gonna need the following materials and supplies:

Materials:

Rubber Band

Cardboard

Supplies:

Scissors

Hot Glue Gun

Ruler

Rotary Cutter or Exacto Knife (optional)

Step 2: Set Up Your Work Area

Let's get started by setting up your work area. Let's put down newspaper for easy clean-up and plug in the hot glue gun. Set out all your materials and supplies so you can see and reach them easily.

Step 3: Make the Body

I used a rotary cutter for all the cardboard cutting. I recommend cutting your cardboard to these measurements (leave a little extra length for the fold):

2 1/2 inches by 6 inches

Now that that's done, let's fold it in half.

Step 4: Let's Add Some Space for Cards!

Cut some more pieces of cardboard to the following sizes:

2 1/4 inches by 3 1/2 inches

2 1/4 inches by 3 inches

2 1/4 inches by 2 1/2 inches

Glue only three edges down to the back of the clip, leaving the top unglued. Glue the next to the back of the existing one, and then repeat for the final one.

Step 5: Load It Up!

Now that your money clip is all decorated, load it up with cash and cards and head out to get groceries with your homemade money clip that is bound to get you compliments!
