Introduction: Valentine Blush

About: good. bye.
In my never ending quest to publish new and exciting cocktail recipes, I pioneer some new combinations that were be 'meant' for each other; a love at first sight situation, dare I say? Recently, I've been experimenting with ruby red grapefruit juice in my recipes. Normally, you aren't able to get that a regular bar. II haven't quite figured out why yet, although I intend to; bars seem to only serve the less sugar saturated yellow stuff. I don't mind that, but I think it's time to move on from "old school" drinks like the slaty dog, and sea breeze, and move on to drinks that can be sweet, without using soda. A Bubbly drink is nice, but the health conscious community is separating itself from the reported toxicity of high fructose corn syrup. (health conscious enough to stay away from high fructose corn syrup, but not alcohol :P I love double standards)

Valentine blush is a drink that combines pink grapefruit with the sensual and ever pleasing flavors of Disorano, vanilla with just a touch of peach. Intoxicating, but not overly sweet, sipping on Valentine Blush this February might be all you need to get you through till Spring.

Valentine Blush

1oz Vanilla Vodka

.5oz Amaretto

.5oz Peach Schnapps

1oz Ruby Red Grapefruit Juice

Pour ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake until your cocktail shaker is frosty. The colder the drink is, the better it tastes. Strain into a cocktail glass garnished with pink sugar.
