Introduction: Vegan Bon Bons

About: I'm a Renaissance woman. I love to create things with a fantasy, medieval, or geeky edge. I'm also a math/science nerd. I have a passion for all things Halloween. I like to build props, create costume elements…

This frozen dessert is simply sliced bananas dipped in a mixture of vegan chocolate and peanut butter. Making them bite-sized increases the surface area of the outside of the banana, maximizing the chocolate to banana ratio and propelling you to pure cool sweet bliss.

Step 1: Supplies

Food:
You need banans (3 big ones or 4 small ones)
1 cup vegan chocolate chips (I prefer Enjoy Life which are free of dairy, gluten, and nuts)
2 tablespoons peanut butter (or any other nut or seed butter you prefer)
Optional: 2 tablespoons topping (you can use finely chopped peanuts, coconut, sunflower seeds, etc.)

Other Stuff:
Large pan or baking sheet
Parchment paper
Spoon
Fork
Freezer

Step 2: Prep Steps

Place your chocolate in a microwave safe bowl. Add the peanut butter. Microwave in 20-30 second intervals, stirring between them, until the chocolate is melted. Stir until combined and smooth.

Place a sheet of parchment paper on your pan.

Slice the bananas into 1" chunks.

Step 3: Dip and Freeze

Place a slice of banana in the bowl of chocolate on its side. Pour chocolate over the banana slice until coated.  Slide the fork beneath the banana slice and transfer to the parchment paper, laying it on a cut side. This way you know that the cut side touching the parchment paper is completely covered.  Inspect your banana and use your fork to dollop more of the chocolate on any space you've missed.

Optional: sprinkle with your topping material, if you have any.

Place cookie sheet in the freezer for no less than an hour.

Enjoy!!
