Vomiting Pumpkin

About: I love to build inventions and I love to cook. Airplanes and the universe fascinate me. I love to take apart machines to find out how they work. I also build machines at home. I have a youtube channel called...

Here, I have made a carved pumpkin but I wanted to make it unique. If you want to gross out your friends on halloween then you've come to the right place. I started this project by making fake blood but my color mixture was wrong and I made a green color instead. So I made some fake puke and later applied it on my carved pumpkin.

Let's get carving!

Step 1: Setup

To carve the pumpkin you'll need:

sharp knife

washable marker

metal scoop or large spoon to remove the pumpkin guts

white chocolate

food coloring (yellow and blue)

washable marker

Candy, I used sour patch

A pumpkin

First, clean the pumpkin with warm water so all the dirt is washed away. Then, dry it off with a paper towel.

Step 2: Scooping Out Your Pumpkin

Cut a small circle around the stem of your pumpkin. This will be where you will scoop out the pumpkin. Take a large metal spoon and remove all the pumpkin guts, you can compost it or cook food with it, it really doesn't mater what you do with it. Next, draw your design onto the pumpkin with a marker.

Step 3: Carve the Pumpkin!

Start cutting out the pumpkin face according to your design. I carved out the eyes, then the mouth. Be very neat and slow because the more you take your time, the better the pumpkin will look in the end. But, who wants a happy pumpkin for halloween? Now in the next step we'll add teeth and vomit to the pumpkin for a cool feature.

*Note* If you do mess up by making a cut somewhere else on the pumpkin, just add some more lines and say the pumpkin got some battle scars to make it look like you did it on purpose :)

Step 4: Adding Decorative Elements

Start cutting your toothpicks in half and stick them into a bunch of sour patch or similiar candy. I used candy corn but later found out that it's too brittle to work with so do not use it. Sour patch kids work well because it's very gooey and sticks to the toothpicks. Once you've prepared the candy. Impale them into the pumpkins mouth. I added a small chocalate to make it look like it's eating it.

Finish off the mouth and while you're adding teeth, melt the white chocolate. Once the chocolate is melted, add three drops of yellow food coloring and one drop of blue food coloring. Stir until mixture is light green. Using a small spoon, drip the "Vomit" down the pumpkins mouth. I did this in two seperate areas for a better effect.

Step 5: Final Step

Take your pumpkin and put a candle in it if you want. Then you can put on the pumpkin lid and show your family and friends your achievement in pumpkin carving.

I hope you had as much fun as I did when I carved my pumpkin. Good luck for your own pumpkin carving!
