So, today is the last day of an unnaturally cool spell for early September in West Tennessee. Its usually in the high 80's this time of year and for the last 8 days its been in the mid 60's. So tomorrow back to reality and the high will be 85°. So I figured today would be the perfect day to be a lazy no good for nothing husband. AND I LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT! Sometimes a lazy afternoon is just what you need to recharge your batteries so to speak, unwind with a book, and even get a nap in.
Step 1: Weapon of Choice: Hammock
So my weapon of choice to waste away an afternoon is my hammock. I built it a few years ago (before I discovered Instructables) out of treated yard timbers, 4" bolts and 4" eye bolts. It's held up pretty good out on the back deck with minimal twisting. I tried to get a many pictures of the frame as possible. The hammock was purchased on Amazon.
Step 2: Lets Hurry Up and SLOW DOWN!
So, first you need a hammock. Second I suggest a pillow, Lastly grab a book, your beverage of choice, and in my case a good pipe with an nice aromatic tobacco.
Step 3: Enjoy
I find it most relaxing to leave my phone inside. Just enjoying the sounds of all the critters and birds in the back yard. Spent many hours after stressful days at work or just when I want to slow down and spend the afternoon outside.
Step 4: Back Up If Your Find Yourself Without a Hammock.
So, if you don't have a hammock. Pull up a sturdy chair and kick your feet up on a deck railing (as shown) or a table, another chair, tailgate, or whatever else nearby. :) ENJOY!
