Introduction: Watercolour Paintings

Watercolours are easy to do once you get used to the paint and learn what to do to blend and not have the paint drip.

Supplies

Materials/Tools:

1. Water

2. Watercolour paint (I use Joiart)

3. Canvas

4. Brush/Brushes

5. Jar of some kind

Step 1: Apply Paint

You can either apply paint to the canvas or to a palette. You only want to use a small amount, the paint goes a long way.

Step 2: Mix With Water

You want a lot of water on your brush to spread the paint. You don't, however, want a lot in the jar you have, as a little water goes a long way.

Step 3: Go Crazy

Now you can paint whatever you want! Just experiment with colours, you will have fun.

Step 4: How to Mix Colours

To mix colours, such as yellow and green, find the green you want to start with and the yellow you want to end with. Then fin the colours in between. Say I start with the colour called Hookers Green and end with Lemon Yellow. The colour after the first green would be Emerald Green, then Medium Yellow. Then you just need to get your water and blend. The two best things about watercolour is that you can blend easily and it is the most forgiving, as you can wipe the colour away and restart.

Step 5: How to Stop Paint Dripping

I don't recommend having your canvas vertical when painting with watercolour. If you must, though, have paper towels with you. I you paint starts to drip, very gently pat the drip off. the harder you press down, the more paint you remove.
