About: My mission is to bring the Wingman Clamp to market! Code named Project Maverick. Checkout my website createdbycay.com.

I wanted a set of modular clamps that combines the benefits of traditional F-Style Bar Clamps, C-Camps, Trigger Clamps, and Pipe Clamps...so I made my own!

The Clamps come in two sizes

Model 500 - Designed for the 1/2" Square Tube

Model 750 - Designed for the 3/4" Square Tube

Step 1: Quick Overview

Get the plans together first!

Step 2: 3D Print Frame (Model 500)

  1. Print out everything
  2. Clean parts
  3. Glue on Lead Screw Nut
  4. Cut and clean Connecting Rod
  5. Glue Connecting Rod to Frame Assembly

Step 3: 3D Print Lead Screw Assembly (Model 500)

  1. Print out everything
  2. Clean parts
  3. Cut and clean Threaded Rod
  4. Install Nylon Locknut and sand down a hemispherical shape on the end
  5. Drill out cross hole for Twist Knob
  6. Glue and assemble all parts
  7. Test Drive

Step 4: Ratchet Assembly (Model 500)

  1. Glue Trigger Plate to Trigger Spacers
  2. Install Pins on Trigger assembly
  3. Install Fasteners onto Clamp Frame
  4. Test Drive

Step 5: 3D Print Frame Assembly (Model 750)

Very similar to the Model 500

  1. 3D Print all components
  2. Clean all parts
  3. Cut and Clean Connecting Rod
  4. Glue and Install Connecting Rod
  5. Install Spring and Clutch Plates

Step 6: 3D Print Lead Screw Assembly (Model 750)

Very similar to the Model 500

  1. Print out everything
  2. Clean parts
  3. Cut and clean Threaded Rod
  4. Install Nylon Locknut and sand down a hemispherical shape on the end
  5. Drill out cross hole for Twist Knob
  6. Glue and assemble all parts
  7. Test Drive

Step 7: Ratchet Assembly (Model 750)

Identical to the Model 500

Step 8: Plywood Build

Plywood Frame
  1. Rough cut plywood strips
  2. Route out channel
  3. Cross cut to rough rectangle piece
  4. Mark up and rough cut profile on plywood
  5. Drill out Connecting Rod holes
  6. Tape down template and using Flush Trim Bit route out exact profile
  7. Glue up profiles
  8. Remove excess plywood
  9. Sand and Clean Edges
  10. Drill and glue down strengthening connecting rods
  11. Drill Spring and Lead Screw cross holes
  12. Cut off excess Plywood
  13. Sand and Clean Edges
  14. ***Optional*** Route chamfer around edges. Sand and Clean Edges
  15. Install metal hardware

Plywood Lead Screw Assembly

  1. Rough cut square pieces of plywood
  2. Mark center and drill holes through plywood squares
  3. Glue up plywood squares
  4. Drill internal features on Lead Screw Pad
  5. Glue down washer inside Lead Screw Pad
  6. Assemble and glue down Swivel Head Assembly
  7. Cut and Sand Down Edges
  8. Assemble to Plywood Frame
