DYI: Wire Cutter

Today in this tutorial we will be making a simple wire cutter. The main advantage of this design is that it is small and can be easily dismantled and/or again assembled.

The good idea to use this wire cutter with a clamp tool. This lets us position our cutter in one place and make sure that the wire cutter stays in one place.

Required parts for this project:

  • Some scrap wood(I used 10x10x2-4cm.) height doesnt really matter that much.
  • Blade
  • 2 bolts
  • 12 washers
  • 4 nuts
  • drill bits and a drill

Step 1: Building Process:

Building process:

The main building process is really simple all of the steps required to build this project are shown in video below. But just to give a short description about the build lets divide it into simple steps right now:

  1. Take your piece of wood and cut two holes in in.Make sure you make holes the same or a bit smaller than your bols. Mine was D= 8mm. Thus, I needed 8mm drill bit.
  2. Then from the other side using flat drill bit, make the holes for the nuts to be countersunk.
  3. Later just assemble all the structure with washers, nuts and bolts according to the video.

*NOTE!* You can change the height of the blade by adding more or less washers, and that will make the width of your wire bigger or smaller accordingly.

Step 2: Last Steps

So after assembling your structure you can add some paint to the piece of wood and you are ready to go. Just make sure to be careful while using blade for this project.

Hello there! We're glad you want to share something with the
Instructables community! And we’re here to help you out. Due to some recent
changes on the site, we are no longer able to publish stand-alone videos and
other forms of incomplete posts. In order to be published live on the site,
Instructables must consist of the following things:

    - Multiple steps
showing how you made your project

    - Written

You may get more views by retitling this as a "Plastic Bottle Cutter", which is what you show it being used for in the video link. There are many who are interested in devices of that type, and your construction seems quite durable too. ☺
