Introduction: Wood Wool
Do you know wood wool? This very thin soft strip is 100% natural products made from wood normally used as packing cushion, and I use it for a gift box of a sake cup. Wood wool might be a timely topic because Starbucks announced that they will eliminate single-use plastic straws globally by 2020. Now natural products like wood wool is reviewing the role in environmental issues.
Step 1: Sake With Wood Wool
This is an experiment to find a different way to use wood wool. I put Japanese cypress wood wool into a glass and then pour sake in order to add the flavor. It looks very interesting as a new presentation. *Please be aware that this wood wool is not checked on food safety inspection.
Step 2: How to Make
The way I make wood wool is to use a tape-shaped of Japanese cypress strip with shredding by a cutter. This time I used Japanese cypress wood wool made by a company which is the only one special manufacturer in Japan. They have been manufacturing wood wool since 1961 and their products are 100% natural products and not used chemical substances. You can check the company "Todashoko" how to make wood wool on the YouTube.
