Xbox Controller Cover

3D Printed Xbox Controller Cover

I am in a 3D modeling class in my high school. I was coming up for ideas and thought at first I was going to design headphones. The class period ended and I went home. When I got home i was playing xbox and thought about how cool it would be to have a 3D printed controller. So I came to school and started designing one.

At first I thought I was going to make one that actually worked but I could not get it how I wanted it. So I then started designed a cover that will go over an xbox controller. I had a few mistakes along the way but managed to fix them. Some things that I would do different are make the top edge of the controller cover curved and I would put holes for the triggers to come through.

Look up the dimensions for an xbox one controller 6.05 × 4.13 × 2.41 in.

Pick the rectangle maker and enter the dimensions.

Use the arc tool and make an arc on the bottom to edges of the rectangle and push them though so that is is round.

To make the handles you have to figure out how wide to make them and cut them out. to make to buttons and joysticks you use the circle tool and put the circles where they go.

To make the d-pad you use the rectangle tool you can print it using a 3D printer. Or you can send it to and they will print and send it to you.

This looks interesting. So did you take the guts out of an original controller and put them in this? If so, how'd that work out?

This is just a model. There are no guts in this one. I am still working on making it work. Right now it is just something that would fit over the original cover.
