Hey Folks, here is a simple Zombie inspired cupcake. I have seen similar ones on the internet, but this is my take on a cool cupcake.

Every week we host a zombie night where a group of friends get together to enjoy zombie films (some good, some not so good - stay away from cemetery man....)

Each week someone is responsible for zombie inspired food, and this week was might turn to cook

Step 1: What You Will Need

The recipe I used is as follows.

1 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter
2 eggs
2tsp vanilla
1 1/2 flour
1 3/4 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup of milk

You'll also need
Icing sugar
Raspberry Jam (some with seeds, some without
Dark and white chocolate
Red food coloring
A mold for the brains

You could also use any other recipe for the base, up to you

Step 2: Making Brain Mush

Cream sugar and butter. Add eggs and vanilla.

Combine flour and baking soda

Add to mixture

Stir in Milk

Add desired amount of red food coloring

Cook 175c for 30 minutes

Step 3: Red Zombies

Let cupcakes cool for about an hour

Step 4: Add Some Blood

I cored the cupcakes out and filled them with raspberry jam.

I then capped them with the left over cupcake.

Step 5: Just a Little Icing

I added a small layer of white icing to help keep the brains in place and add a little contrast

Step 6: Make'n Brains

I made the brains the night before as they required some time to set

I melted some chocolate in a pyrex and added to the mold.

I then place the mold in the fridge for about 3 hours to set

I experimented with different shades of chocolate, and even painted on some red chocolate to help make the brains stand out more
