Intro: Curried Potato Chicken
This is a very yummy dish with few steps. As it’s easy to cook, so it’s not only suitable for a house wife, but also suitable for someone with little cook experience.
Step 1: Ingredients
Chicken breast meat(1 lbs)
5 to 6 potatoes(2.5 lbs—3lbs )
Curry powder(at least 5 teaspoon)
Soy sauce(1 teaspoon)
Step 2: Chop
Chop chicken breast meat and potatoes into small cubic pieces. The way of chopping is along 3 axis. If you can not cut a cube out it, just to chop as likely as a cube and keep them as small as possible, this would make them easier to be cooked.
After that, add 1 teaspoon of soy sauce and 1 teaspoon curry powder to pickle meat pieces. The process is about 15—20 minutes. Make sure every piece is coated.
Step 3: Fry Meat , Add Potatoes and Water
As I have to stew the potatoes and meat later on, I use a pressure pot to cook it. You can use whatever pot you can find, but surely it will take a longer time.
Firstly I add a teaspoon of oil to the pot, heating it up with heavy heat for about 1 minute. Pour down the pickled meat and fry them until they are fully done.
Now pour down potato pieces, Add 3 quart water, which is half of my pot. At this point, you can stop adding water when it cover the potatoes and meat.
Step 4: Stew
Add 5 teaspoon of curry powder and 2 teaspoon of salt. You can adjust the amount according to your taste. When the water is boiling, put on cover and close it tight. Wait for 20 minutes, close the fire (Notice: if you used the ordinary pot, it might take you 1.5--2 hours to cook).
When it’s done, the potatoes are mashed and the soup taste wonderful.
Step 5: Enjoy!
Everything is done, enjoy your meal! It’s very yummy no matter as a dish or as a soup.
