Step 1: Materials

scissors /exacto knife (either of those would work)

different colored/designed duct tape

cardboard/foam(either one or both would work)

cotton balls(you only need this if you are using a cardboard base)

glue(only if you want a thicker sole)

Step 2: Cutting Out the Sole

Take any piece of cardboard as big as your foot (its better if its bigger than your  foot)
Put your foot on it. Using a pencil or pen trace around your foot and cut it out .
Repeat this step, if you want a thicker sole. You can use duct tape or glue to stick the layers together

Step 3: Making the Sole Softer

If you have a foam sole you can skip this step.
Since I used cotton balls I will show you how to do this step
Put as many cotton balls as you like to make it soft, and duct  tape them down.Do this to both sole until you have covered only the top side with the cotton balls and duct tape on top. I used one color as the bottom layer and added the decorations after.

Step 4: Putting the Straps On

Take your sole and put your foot on it.
Make a small roll of duct tape a little longer than the height of your toes (the thong) and put it between your big toe and the toe next to it.
Tape it to the sole on both sides, putting the tape sideways .
For the straps, just take a long piece of duct tape and fold it in half like a hot dog to make a strap. Put the end of the strap on top of the duct tape thong with a piece of duct tape .
Next, attach the other end of the strap to the sole where ever you want.Do the same for the other strap

Step 5: Decorating

You can make stripes, dots or any design that you want out of duct tape for your flip flops.

Step 6: Using Them

Now wear them as shoes around the house.
