Intro: Homemade Satchel

I made this in a class when I was thirteen and sewed on patches of things that I like. The bag is made out of white canvas, and I personally chose and embroidered all of the patches myself . As you can probably tell I am an ameture seamster (Seamster = A male seamstress) .

Step 1: Charlie Brown

This is Obviously a Charley Brown patch, I appreciate comics specifically the oldies .

Step 2: The Tie

I personally enjoy wearing ties so I decided slap one on there .

Step 3: The Mushroom

For those of you who don't know this is a power-up mushroom from Mario (the video game) .

Step 4: The Pink Ribbon

The Pink Ribbon supporting the cause for the cure for cancer .

Step 5: Beaker

Step 6: "Classic" Captain America Shield

I sewed it by hand... if that what your asking . But I mean I also had an older lady that taught me how to do some different kinds of stitching .

It was pretty simple actually , all I did was take a rectangular piece of cloth (canvas I think) fold it leaving one side about one third longer (the excess cloth will become the button flap later on) then take two different pieces for the sides as wide as you like leaving enough cloth at the top (once again for the flap ) . Then sew the side pieces on (giving the bag width of course if you don't want to do it that way you just sew the side together but if you do that it may cause problems with the strap) . Speaking of which to make the strap simply take another piece of cloth about three in. thick and as for the length that depends on how low you want it to hang , sew the strap together pinched upward and when your finished turn it inside out then attach it to the bag . Then just sew your choice of snap /or/ button and obviously make a corresponding hole . Sorry if this is hard to understand I not much of a writer , hope it helps ... I tried to "Reply" but had problems with the "spam reducer"
